Corn Salad, also known as Mâche and Lamb's Lettuce, is a cool-season annual with 3" leaves that add a mild, nutty flavor to salads. Thomas Jefferson grew this European native at Monticello, and recorded saving seed in 1794. While serving as President, he noted that "corn sallad" was available in Washington markets from March 4 to April 30. Jefferson-documented: This plant was documented by Thomas Jefferson in his Garden Book, Notes on the State of Virginia, or other writings.

Direct sow seed in well-prepared garden loam at two-week intervals in early spring and again in fall for a succession of greens. Prefers soil temperatures from 41-68 degrees F. Approximately 200 seeds per packet.
